It's time to speak up! We can use our minds, we can use our actions and we can also use our voices as we seek to live out God's Mission.
We've put together a bunch of ways that you can use your voice and the opportunities you have as someone living in the UK to speak up on behalf of some of the world's poorest people. We'll be adding to the list regularly so keep checking back for new ways to speak out!

Climate change
Turn on the tap, flush the toilet, wash your hands and clean the dishes – all things we do without thinking about them and critical to our health. Just think about what would happen if all those things we take for granted simply disappeared.
The dishes would soon pile up and start growing, hands and fingernails would become home to millions of bacteria, tummy cramps and sickness would become part of your daily life. Illness and sickness, however, is daily life to over a third of the world’s population, and this means death for at least 4000 children per day.
We know the stats, almost 900million without safe water, 2.5billion without basic sanitation…but when we put that together with scripture that tells us we are each formed in the likeness of God, that we are equal, that we are brothers and sisters those stats simply cannot be ignored.
Both water and sanitation are focussed on in the Millennium Development Goals, but the sanitation target is off track globally, and the water target is off track in a number of places, most of sub-Saharan Africa in particular. Unless this issue is prioritised now our government’s commitments simply will not be met. Tearfund are calling for action and action now, so, will you join in?

Water and sanitation
It's OUT OF ORDER that 5000 children die everyday because of dirty water and poor sanitation. It's OUT OF ORDER that 900million people don't have safe water to drink. It's OUT OF ORDER that almost a third of our brothers and sisters don't have a safe and secure toilet to use.

HIV & AIDS
It’s over 25 years since the first recorded case of AIDS occurred. Since then HIV has sent ripples throughout society. Like a stone dropped in a pond families, communities and nations have been affected the world over.
Current estimations suggest over 33 million people are living with HIV globally, with a vast concentration in southern Africa, where over 22 million people live with a virus that has an impact on every aspect of their lives. In 2007 2.5 million people were newly infected with this completely preventable, treatable and manageable disease.
Our friends at Tearfund want to stop HIV from destroying lives, families and communities, so by 2015 they are hoping to see the spread of the virus stopped and its impact reversed in the communities where Tearfund partners work.
That’s a massive vision but with your help we can all be part of a miracle and stop AIDS. All together.
